None of them give you one simple explanation of why you derail your efforts to fulfill your desires and dreams. In over three decades and working with thousands of people from all walks of life and ages, I was able to discover a protective trait that we are born with and I call it…
The Inborn Sabotaging Trait. Yes! Inborn. You were born with it and you can’t get rid of it. The good news is this trait doesn’t undermine you but protects you when you are in uncomfortable situations.
This is why you don’t handle these situations well. It’s your protective patterns that get you into trouble. Below, I will show you how to immediately switch it off whenever you want.
The reason I used the word ‘sabotage’ to define this trait is because its original meaning was used in social warfare in the late 1800’s in France. Overworked and frustrated factory workers ‘sabotaged’ the factory owners by slowing down their work and creating a “resistance” leading to inefficiencies to improve their conditions.
Similarly, I realized your Inborn Sabotaging Trait creates resistance not to punish you, but to shake things up to improve and evolve your life and business. When realized, it forces you to slow you down and find the real cause of your turmoil and allows you to change directions.
How Your Inborn Sabotaging Trait Benefits You
There are only THREE Inborn Sabotaging Traits and yours is there to actually benefit you.
Your Inborn Sabotaging Trait has always been affecting your life, business and career, NOT by undermining your success, but by PROTECTING you FROM the very success that you seek because that success is more subconsciously painful than to change your present ineffective behavior.
Here is a summary of all three traits. Even though you have the ability at times to use all of the behaviors, one of them is more hardwired in you than the other two.
The Three Inborn Sabotaging Traits are:

Obstructs your leadership skills, decisiveness, and your ability to stay focused and on track.
SUPPLIER SABOTEUR TRAIT:
Blocks your ability to self-nourish; leads to being under appreciated, resentful and depleted.
COMMUNICATOR SABOTEUR TRAIT:
Inhibits your ability to express; discourages you from confronting & taking action.

THE COMMUNICATOR SABOTEUR
HOW YOUR COMMUNICATOR SABOTEUR TRAIT PROTECTS YOU
The below explanation describes the behavior you use when you have fallen back into old patterns in order to protect yourself. Protecting yourself is perceived to be less painful than effectively COMMUNICATING.
You typically are distant, quiet and non-confrontational when you are presented with an uncomfortable situation. You don’t express yourself because you are concerned you may say or do the wrong thing, or it may not come out the way you planned. This is why it takes some time to process your thoughts and feelings before you act on any communication, whether verbally, a text or facial expressions.
You are a listener, not a talker. This is why people may not know what you are thinking and feeling. So, they either guess what you want or do what they think is best–regardless of your true desires.
You tend to degrade yourself if you make a mistake. This further discourages you from communicating your thoughts and feelings to others.
Depending on the situation, if you reach your breaking point, you may have the ability to overly express yourself and demean others, whether to yourself or outwardly. This gives you a false sense of courage to “let them have it” which will cause you to disconnect from the situation for some time to you process what happened. For instance, at home, you may feel comfortable telling family members how you feel without worrying about the consequences. However, when it comes to business, you tend to be quieter with clients and not express yourself. The same can be true in the reverse situation.
You don’t let go easily. It is hard to count your losses and move on. You can obsess about things because of your inability or unwillingness to let go because not knowing if you did all that you have could.
In order to find balance, I have provided you below a solution called The Antidote. This immediately creates harmony between these two extremes.

Remember, the explanation above refers to when you are falling back into old patterns, NOT when things are going well. If you found yourself saying, “Well, I used to do that” or “Some of it sounds like me but I don’t do all of it”, then review the following:
- You may have had therapy or some form of self-help to lessen your Sabotaging behavior. But I promise you, you are still do it when you are not handling unconformable situations well.
- All the words you are reading are synonymous. I present all of these options because certain words may resonate with you more than others, depending on the situation.
- You may be using some behaviors in your business and not in your personal life, or vice versa. Look at these behaviors in all aspects of your current and past situations.
- If it still doesn’t resonate with you, retake the quiz. You may be looking at the wrong Inborn Sabotaging Trait.
Switch Off Your Inborn Sabotaging Trait Immediately by Using
YOUR COMMUNICATOR SABOTEUR
HOW YOUR ANTIDOTE WORKS
Your ANTIDOTE is the exact OPPOSITE to your Inborn Sabotaging Trait. Therefore, when you use the Antidote, it’s impossible to sabotage yourself.
Your Antidote is: EXPRESS MORE by CONNECTING to YOURSELF and OTHERS
You protect yourself in uncomfortable situations by NOT communicating effectively or not at all. (This includes verbal or non-verbal communication.) In order to switch off this inborn protection, you need to start communicating or expressing yourself a little more.
Using the Antidote allows you to connect to what you desire and disconnect from irritants.
Irritants can be people, things and events, or your own negative thoughts and feelings. You need to communicate differently with yourself and others. This change starts with feeling more comfortable expressing which at first can be very difficult. This will depend on the what you perceive the consequence to be if you actually express yourself.
The more you communicate, the easier it becomes to let others know your thoughts and feelings. After you realize the positive benefits, you will be able to disconnect from your stubbornness regularly and effectively support yourself in achieving your desires.
After you implement this new behavior, you will analyze the situation in a more balanced way. This will allow you to sit back and consider different options and act upon them quickly and more confidently. Practice your Antidote especially in difficult situations.
I suggest start expressing at least 10% or more in every situation for the next week. Write down your experiences and the consequence you had. You will see that most of your experiences will be more positive than not.
Using your Antidote will encourage you to express more confidence, increase self-respect, and honor your thoughts by sharing your ideas.
Expressing more to yourself and others will allow you to 1) find balance so you can have the respect and honor you deserve in your business and life, 2) remain expressive, and 3) be empowered by your ability to communicate to others without feeling vulnerable.
